That same evening John wanted me to organize a little after-dinner party.

To have people over like that is something I enjoy, so I had nothing against this gathering,

and I busied myself getting things ready for the guests.

I put the drinks and mixes in order, toothpicks and sweets.

I did all the possible things a good hostess has to do.
